A
crop grown on a farming field or something grown at weddings
or even known as a cheap, plain source of food. Whatever
this object is thought to be, it is rice nonetheless.
Rice
is a food which is grown in high quantities across many
places around the world. Due to the amount of it grown everywhere,
it is a cheap food to buy, making it suitable for any person
on any budget to afford it, and even cheap enough to be
a solution to the well-known problem, global hunger.
Even
though rice is a staple food, it is used in many expensive
Asian dishes. These dishes include the fried rice and glutinous
rice. Although rice is mainly a food used in Asian dishes,
many kids' cereal contains rice in it, such as Rice Bubbles,
Coco-pops and the kids' snack bar, LCM's.
Using
rice as a main part of a dinner meal is rarely found in
Western dishes, but is most common in the Asian dish. It
is recommended to have rice as the main part of a meal at
night because of its low calories and fats. Low fats and
calories are healthy for the dinner meal since energy will
be used at a minimum at night, resulting in the unused energy
turning into fat.
Rice
also contains many useful vitamins and minerals, including
vitamin B, potassium, thiamin and niacin. On top of all
this nutrition found in rice, it is a good source of insoluble
fibre, which reduces the risk of bowel disorders and helps
eliminate constipation.
Rice
is a food which is very useful to people all around the
world. It can be used as a cheap food to solve global hunger,
an expensive main Asian dish, a delicious western side dish,
a healthy breakfast and a satisfying snack. On top of all
these dishes rice can be used in, it has a wonderful variety
of vitamins and minerals to add on to our food, helping
us live a long and healthy life.
