There
were no rules for fashion at these times. The clothes weren't smart
but they were much in fashion. Youths' fashion was cheap and sold
on the street. They had loud vibrant colours. After 1973 because of
the oil crisis rich women started to spend less on their clothes.

| Clothes
were not as tight as before, hot pants or short shorts also became
popular during the 70s.Shirts also became shorter before going out
of fashion. Ladies wanted clothes for work so hemlines stayed around
the knee and trousers flared out. |
| Mixing
and matching became popular. Natural materials like cashmere; wool
and suede started to be more commonly used. Natural earth tones and
low cut tops for women were definitely in. |
