The age of hats, big and small!

Women in the 1920s wore knee-length skirts and loose clothing. The hemlines of these dresses were just below the knees and silk stockings were worn underneath. Dresses had empasised their womanly figures by fitting tightly around the waist.

Hats were very popular in those days.

Because of the popular demand for fur to make hats, collars and coats, numbers of possums and koalas decreased.

Between 1925-1928 every women young and old took to a straight down dress with a waistline around the hips.

Evening dresses were trimmed with new decoration such as fringes and sequins.

Skirts were considered 'revealing' because they exposed the calves and ankles.
