Year
7 visit to Canberra 2004
|
| From
21 to 28 August this year, three bus loads of our Year 7 students
travelled to Canberra accompanied by teachers and coach drivers. |
"'Oh
no! I've forgotten my suitcase!'
Well,
thankfully that never happened on the day we were to leave
for this year's Canberra trip. However a lot of other things
did.
Parents
fussed over their kids, some worried and teary-eyed, some
relieved to be rid of their kids for a whole week (well
maybe not).
All
in all going to Canberra was a great experience for all
the Year 7 students who attended. We had many memorable
moments. Here are a few of my highlights from the trip:" |
"Bus
trips are often boring but not in our case!

|
Our
fun on the bus included 70s karaoke, munching on lollies,
sightseeing and falling asleep!
When we passed through the countryside on the way
to Dubbo, the night sky outside was filled with stars
and was particularly awesome!" |
|
|
| Wellington
Caves:
"Exploring
the hidden wonders of the caves was unforgettable. Identifying
fossils actually turned out to be alot of fun!" |
|
| The
White Ibis:
"The
thing I'll remember about the White Ibis is the food. I
especially loved the delicious pancakes!" |
| |
|
|

|
Parliament
House:
"Everything
was just so BIG! Especially the places for the Order of
Representativesand the Senate. I really, really enjoyed
acting out the actual procedure of a government."
|
|
|
|
 |
Questacon:
"Hanging
off the bar at the top of the free-fall was one of the scariest
moments in my life. I was terrified of the thought of my
hand slipping and though I was trembling, in the end I let
go."
|
|
Screensound
Australia:
"We all enjoyed watching very early episodes
of TV programs we watch today. Whether it be Play School, Neighbours
or even Mr Squiggle, we were very interested in how our favourite
show looked when it started."
