ANZAC DAY 2004

The ANZAC ceremony this year was again led by our school captains.

The following photos are by Sandra Lin and the text is by our School Captain, Clinton Chan :

On the 22 April this year MacGregor held two ANZAC ceremonies in commemoration of the ANZACs.

The half hour ANZAC ceremony is an annual tradition at MacGregor.

This year, the ANZAC ceremonies included speeches by the school captains: Annie, Alex, Shelley and I. We explained how ANZAC Day originated, told stories of some heroes and explained what happened in WW1.

There was also a multimedia presentation with posters from World War 1 and scenes from the movie Gallipoli.

The laying of the wreaths.

We included the traditional laying of the wreaths, the hymn, prayer and Ode followed by the Last Post, a minute's silence, Reveille and the National Anthem.

MacGregor will continue to maintain the tradition of commemorating this very important piece of Australia's history: ANZAC Day.
